I just received word from Kinja Support that this is indeed a new “feature” that they intentionally implemented, and not a bug.
FWIW, I’ve also been notified that my dislike of the feature has been passed along to the team. Add your voice here: https://kinja.desk.com/customer/portal/emails/new

I’m totally blown away to find out that Ja-Kin has a support structure of any kinds. Kinja Customer Care. Just doesn’t sound right.

it sucks!

Please, please, please... Don’t keep that thing. With the comments who have to be loaded in between that, it’s worse that Infowars’ system and not a lot of things are worse than Infowars haha

It’s garbage. Ditch it.

Ironically, that form seemed to be kinja’d for me...

Wait you guys did that on purpose?
Congrats you made kinja worse. Didn’t think it was possible

I almost posted something about this.. Glad a scrolled down far enough.
This is the stupidest “feature” that was ever implemented. Email sent.

No.

I’m not a fan of it. It is taking rather long to load up comments. I remember websites doing this years ago, but I’m not a fan. It doesn’t work well on mobile, tablets, or pcs...

I’m not going to fill out that form because I don’t care to enter my info, but please, scrap this feature. It really worsens the user experience.

You should know better to challenge them lol

Just emailed you guys. I think I’ve interacted with you before, I know you guys mean well. This is brutal my friend. Can you at least give us an off switch for it so it’s optional? Does anyone like it?

This was my input, I’ll cc it here in case my email gets... kinja’d.
Hi,
I’d like to kindly voice my disapproval of the new Infinite Scroll feature. This feature works well on other news websites without comments. In my opinion, it works very poorly on the Kinja platform. The kinja community and comments are generally what make the site worth visiting/reading, especially the user content/forum type blogs such as Oppositelock.
It’s frustrating to scroll to the comments only to scroll past and onto the next article without the comments loading in time or loading at all. Inevitably, the user must click “show all comments” to get them to load, and it’s quite annoying for the browser to be juggling the loading comments (especially long reply chains, photos, videos, etc) while trying to display the next article below.
Finally, when saving or viewing a draft post, it’s incredibly frustrating to see other kinja articles popping up- there’s no delineating factor between what’s a draft and what’s public / already published. I understand the drive to increase clicks and site traffic, I know this is essential to business and growth, but please consider another option.

What do I have to do to make it go away and never come back?

I’m not seeing “Infinite Scroll” anymore. How about you?
Maybe they disabled it after all?

It appears they did

Hey Luca,
The infinite scroll feature is pretty annoying. Comments are very hard to expand. What I would really prefer is to see 99% of the comments, or at least if I click ‘expand comments’ to show me the comments, instead of 2 or 3 more. I understand if there are thousands of comments this may pose an issue, but for under 100 comments can’t we just see them all when ‘expand’ or ‘view comments’ is clicked?
Thanks! Keep on improving!
